Balances is accounting software for small businesses and the accountants who work with them, with an AI agent you talk to in plain English.
Who we are
Balances was founded in San Francisco in April 2025 by Alex Campbell. It’s a small company, and the person who answers your support email is usually the one who builds the fix.
Why we built it
Most small business owners keep their own books in software designed for clicking through menus. We think you should be able to say what you need, review what Balances prepares, and get back to work, on real double-entry books your accountant can work in too.
How we ship
We release improvements almost every day, and every one is written up in plain English in the changelog.
